AHHHHHHHHH The Holidays

Yes, the hustle and bustle is over. The time shopping, wrapping and giving has come to an end. Now the thoughts turn to a new year with a grateful heart from time spent with family and friends.

I'm sharing a few pictures of Christmas with the grand kids. They were even sitting politely as gifts were handed out and seem to be please with their nightgowns.

I think this is a happy grandson with his Army tank. He exclaimed ca-ching! Just what I wanted!

All dressed in our new Grammie made nightgowns and sitting on their matching pillows to say their prayers before bed. Do you think maybe those prayers might have had Santa in them?

Isn't this what Christmas morning is suppose to look like after all the opening frenzy is over. The kids playing and Mom & Dad just chilling! Well at least at my daughter's house it is. Of course my Jazi wanted in the picture also. Wait, isn't that her twin on the floor? hee-hee!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas time spent with family and friends. Now it is on to digging out my house. Yes, it does look like a tornado hit it. Ah, the holidayssssssssssss!

Enjoy June!

RELAX & READING

The weekend was so enjoyable! The concert was great and I even won a poinsettia with a lucky number on my program. I had some of the grands overnight Saturday while their parents attend a company party. But mainly the weekend was spent relaxing and catching up on some of my new books and magazine. I found myself lost in wonderland. Dreaming of putting myself in the pages and being as talented as the writers. Isn't it fun to take a break from reality!

I am so thrilled with The Farm Chicks Christmas and I hear the first printing is gone. I wonder if they will do another someday. Oh and Where Woman Cook, wow what some talented gals. I've been enjoying a renewed interest in embroidery this year and pick up a new book by a northwest author, Alicia Paulson, Embroidery Companion. Let's not forget my copy of The Feminine Home which features one of my favorite blog friends June. Yes, we share the same name and she is a doll! Go check out her blog you will love her photography. http://laughingwithangels.blogspot.com/ Another book I picked up some time back but haven't had the chance to dive into the pages and that is Sisters on the Fly. I am so envious of there vintage trailers. I'm still kicking myself for selling my old 1966 about 4 years ago. Where was my head?

I am a copy cat when it comes to decorating. I need to give credit to Serena of The Farm Chicks who gave me the idea to put a wreath on my old farm set. I loved her old metal barn and to think my brother still has his, hummmm.
There is nothing better then snuggled on the sofa reading all these new additions to my little library and drinking Peppermint Mocha. Thank you Coffeemate for introducing this to me which you can add to coffee or even hot cocoa! Thank goodness it is only available at the holidays.

These book are so enjoyable to read as I drift off into dreamland!

I hope all your shopping is finished and you can spend a little time relaxing like I have been doing. Don't worry it won't last long for I will remember some last minute thing I forgot and will be making a mad scrabble.

Enjoy June

READY OR NOT

I think I'm ready for Christmas. All the gifts are either made or purchased. The exciting part is that they are wrapped. Now it is on to housecleaning, relaxing and enjoying. I'm excited for this afternoon I'm taking in a Christmas Concert of the Senateaires. http://www.senateaires.org/ I have been going for several years now and really enjoy them.
I really did keep it simple this year. After Christmas it will be a major decoration discard and a trip to Goodwill. But I thought I would share the tree with minimal decor.
Okay I need to invest in a new camera or photography classes. The tree had to have one special ornament for Jazi.

Yes, her very own look a like! I tried to get her to sit still with a Santa hat on but as you can see no such luck! So no pictures!
So that means I am ready for family and friends to stop by and visit. Share a cup of tea or hot cocoa!

And I promise they will be mini marshmallows in the bowl if you stop! Maybe even a treat or two!

Enjoy June

FAMILY

Spending an entire weekend with family is the best that it can get! All my children and grand children traveled over the mountain and through the woods not to Gramme's house to my son's home in Bend. And where was my camera traveling but tucked away since it was dark out. Maybe that was a good thing so I didn't notice all the snow packed roads. It was a weekend filled with celebrating birthdays and an early Christmas. With all of us together is was a time for family pictures! So with a short post the ends results!

All the Grand's who are growing up way to fast!

It's been years since I've had my picture taken with just my kids! Yikes!

The whole entire crew and the Christmas card photo is taken!
This past weekend memories will be instilled in my heart forever! Family is the best thing in the entire world!

COOKIES, COOKIES, COOKIES!!

The holiday parties have begun!! I had two yesterday to attend and one was a cookie exchange. There was only six of us and the rules were to bring a dozen cookies wrapped up for each. So that meant I was to bake 60 cookies. Now they could be all one kind or a variety. So on Saturday after first attending a grand son's wrestling tournament I was home baking and watching the Duck's football game (way to go Ducks!). Of course I'm one that has to make more then one kind. Maybe another reason I couldn't make of my mind which one I wanted to make so I made five different kinds. And yes, everyone got two dozen instead of a dozen.

There are Rice Krispie Christmas trees, Chocolate Marshmallow, Grandma's Peanut Bars, Mississippi Mud and Sugar Cookies. One of my favorites is the Chocolate Marshmallow and I made a double batch so I could get my fill and feel sick and over stuffed. Isn't that part of the holidays.

So Sunday morning all the cookies packed in the car I was off t0 cut a Christmas tree with kids and grand kids. Tree in the Tahoe I'm on my way to the cookie exchange. Now the funny part of the party! One of the gals got the rules goofed up and made five, yes 5 dozen cookies for each attendee! So I came home with over 12 dozen cookies!! Now talk about over stuffed if I eat all of them! The truth, most are all in the freezer! I am taking them to our family Christmas gathering.

So then I was off to my second party a gather of girl friends for our monthly pot luck! Now remember I had a bite of food at the cookies exchange. So I'm not overly hunger. But everyone out did themselves and I had to have a bite of everything. It is evening now and I am driving home one over stuffed, happy, rolly polly!

Yikes, I still have the tree in the Tahoe and it should get in water. So before I totally crashed from exhaustion the tree went up. So the living room has one naked tree until I rest up ZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!

Oh the fun of the holidays,
