WEEKEND OFF

I couldn't pass up a weekend at the coast. Of course there was all kinds of reasons I shouldn't take off on a whim, but I have no will power when I get a chance to play at the beach. The weather on Friday and Saturday was out standing! Very little wind and marvelous suns. YES SUN! It was pushing sixty degrees, that is not normal for this time of the year. So I mainly going to post a few pictures and hope you enjoy!

So enjoyable to walk and drink in the sites, sun and sounds!

Jazi and her friends enjoy a run/walk on the beach. We were in Lincoln City right where the bay and the ocean come together. Great place for the dogs to be off leash and they can run and run! But of course Jazi doesn't let me get to far away before checking where I am.

Looking down on Boiler Bay! I can't begin to tell you how nice the weather was!

These guys were patiently waiting for hand out!

What a relaxing and enjoyable time even if I ran away from housework, bill paying and all that stuff that will wait. Now it's on to putting that pot of soup on, hummmmm? Wonder what is in Old Mother Hubbard's Cupboards?

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

WHAT'S THIS?

Could this be the sun peaking out? Can I go outside and turn my face towards it? Can I feel the warmth and drink up the heat? Well no, it's January and its winter. But can I see the brightness of the day? Can I see the rays shinning through the window? Yes, Yes!! What a mood changer to have sun rays dancing on the floor in the morning as I sit and drink my coffee and contemplate the day.

Isn't it funny how little thing can bring so much happiness? This kitchen/dining project has been a long drawn out affair. But every little step to completion excites me so! My son in law got all the furnace vent put back on, new light switches, but the most exciting my dining room light up. You see I purchased this light about 6 years ago with the idea of redoing my ceilings. So it has taken a little longer then expected - but the light is up. I love it more then I thought I would. Okay, a rooster chandleir isn't for everyone, but it's for me!

I also brighten my day with bringing home some flowers with my errand running. It's another simple thing that brighten the attitude.

So here's to more sun rays, new lighting, more vitamin D and kicking this winter blues!

Enjoy June

MAKING PROGRESS

I've been working on both my attitude and my projects. I think that the winter blues has set in. I really think I'm one of those people who need sunlight. Anyway the weatherman was predicting snow and that always perks me up. I love snow and we don't get it very often . So this is what I woke up to this morning at 6:30am. Sorry about the dark pic!

I know not much only a dusting. I was so in hopes it would continue. But no such luck!

But Jazi thought a walk in the dusting was in order. Do you know on Sunday morning about 7AM there is not very many people out and about? It was such a peaceful walk and even our little dusting was nice. Now let me explain, every town in all four directions got about 2 inches of snow. What?? do I live in the banana belt - Snow where were you?

Progress on unfinished project has been made. Scarf getting there, tying tassels on the ends. Chicks to stretch over Easter eggs are up to 4 knitted and one sewn together. And the stash of dish rags in progress. I will need about 16 of these before next Christmas. Now if only I would do a couple a month I would have extras . One pair of slippers are finished. I have made this pattern for slippers clear back in my 4 H days. To tell the truth it is the only pattern I know how to make. Plus they stay on kids feet. Yes, yellow pom poms completed the Duck slippers, YELL OOOOOOOOOO! Okay you have to be a Duck fan for that.

It's Crock Pot Sunday Soup! This week it is Taco Soup, my old stand by. Actually I've been trying to clean out and use up older cans out of the pantry. Last week it was clean out the refrigerator. So now I have a warm yummy lunch for work this week.

This week hold continue work on both the attitude and projects!

Enjoy June!

New Projects --NO!!!!!

It's the New Year and I was blog hopping this morning and saw so many new ideas and projects. Some of you bloggers are so talented. I came across one blog that has crochet granny square afghans and pillows. I loved the colors and the thought sprung into my head, "I haven't done granny squares for a long time". So I went to my yarn stash, low and behold what did I find, but several unfinished projects. Imagine that! Me, myself and I starting another project before a previous one is complete. Ha - Ha, what every gave you that idea! See all these unfinished projects! Now why would I think to start another one?

First we have the plum afghan I started about 5 years ago, okay maybe 6 years. You see my daughter wanted a heavy, snuggle one with her colors. So I started this and guess what? She changed her color scheme in her living room. So someday I may finish it for they say colors cycle. Right now we are in the colors from the seventies. Hopefully I'm alive with this finished when plum comes back into fashion.

Socks, well not yet. I purchase the yard and did a test to see my gauge so I could start a pair of socks for me. Have I knitted more, of course not! It is a round to it project.

Duck football colored slippers. You are correct, football season is over for the year. But I must mention we did win the Rose Bowl. Maybe if I get with it I can get six more pairs done for next season. Really it was a great idea!

The chickens from last year that never got done in time for Easter. I do have a chance of finishing for this Easter. I only have five more to go. They are really cute completed and stretched over a plastic Easter egg.

Yes, my winter scarf. It's halfway done and winter isn't a month old yet. There is hope!

The dish rag! Really I have made great progress on this project. I made over a dozen for last year and gave the final ones for Christmas gifts. This is my second one of the year, so I have a good start.

So no more projects until I finish some already started. Be thankful I only showed my knitting and crocheting. I have several embroidery and sewing project in the works also. When will I ever learn - never! You heard me, I'm beyond learning to finish before starting a new! I'm sure it is genetic!

Finally, it's crock pot Sunday! I've been making a crock pot full of soup every Sunday for the last several weeks. It is wonderful to grab and go for work lunches.

Today's soup is freezer and refrigerator clean out soup! No other name comes to mind. It is left over turkey from the freezer, broccoli & cauliflower from left over veggie tray, onions and garlic from the garden, plus various veggies from the refrigerator. Some chicken broth, spices and wa la soup!

Enjoy June

A NEW DAY, A NEW DAWN

Oh what a lovely morning today is! I love it when the sky waken me with color. We have had too many gray days.

Yes, a new day is dawning and it is giving me energy at least in thought to get some project done.

I"m trying to tell myself with the wonderful sky I need to get up off the sofa. It has been my best friend this week after work.

It should be a good day, who could love a morning like this. A bit nippy but the skies are clearing.

I'm on my way to work with this for our lunch. Yes, it was up early and baking. Here's to a few more pounds!

Yes, it is a new day and a new dawn to enjoy!

The New Year

My soup turned out wonderful. The flavor was wonderful for lunch yesterday.I can't wait for lunch today.

It was so easy to make after the ribs from the prime rib simmered all day in the crock pot.

All it took was a few cans of vegetables, some noodles, fresh carrots and little more seasoning and I have lunch for the rest of the week. I love doing crock pot soups on Sunday so I only have to grab and go work mornings.

I'm watching the Rose Parade and I am putting my house back together. This is quite a task since it has been in an upheaval since after Thanksgiving. Yes, the ceilings are finally painted. Can I move, let just say I keep moving so the sore muscles don't set in.

I have a cup of coffee and I'm keeping an eye on the TV since HGTV is airing the Rose Parade with no commercials. What a delight, no commercials to interrupt.

Oh course pictures of the TV never turn out great but can you see what I'm seeing. Yes, GO DUCK! It's the University of Oregon marching band. Now if I would have had half a brain and had my camera ready I would have had a picture of there float.

So now you can tell what I am doing this afternoon. I'm watching the Rose Bowl and will be yelling OOOOOOOOOOOOOO for the Ducks! I am a Duck fan if you haven't noticed.

So go make soup of your own and setting down to watch the Ducks!

GO DUCKS!
