Welcome

I hope to share my little ups and downs though life in a small town with hopes and dreams of the country life. With that I have learned to bloom where you are planted.

Glamping Season has Begun!!

My first trip out with the trailer is over and the second is just a week away.  Oh what fun it is to gather with girlfriends to visit, junk, craft and eat!!!

We gathered on one our member's homestead!  Yes, the house was built in 1895 and what a lovely hostess she was!

I think there was close to 27 trailer/campers there!!!

Oh was there ever some cute vintage trailers!!  I wished I could show you mine, but it still a work in progress!!!  Oh what a project!

I could fill the entire blog with pictures but we did do a few other things.  Like painting, yes we painted!

Can you believe there was about 32 for painting class and every single one was different but oh so beautiful!!

We even had entertainment!

Oh my goodness, yes, Ukuleles!!  This group was called Refreshment and they were so fun and entertaining!! If you are in the Springfield/Eugene, OR area and want a fun, fun group!!

This camp out is always the first weekend of May and it happened to be Mother's Day on Sunday.  So I volunteered to organize breakfast.  I made several breakfast casseroles with muffins, scones, fruit and beverage, yes Mimosa!
I don't think anyone went away hungry.  What a great send off until we meet again!!!

Spring Bloom

I am trying to get caught up with blogging and weeding.  Neither one is winning!! But while I am playing catch up my flowers decided to bloom.  I'm sure everyone can say it's been crazy weather, from extra warm to snow, depending on where you live.  We have been having extra warm weather so everything is ahead of itself!!

So not to bore you too much I'm just posting a few pics from a walk in the yard!

Peonies to iris are starting with a bang!

My little dogwood in full bloom!!

Now onto roses, yes, roses the first of May!  What ever happen to roses in June??

This was suppose to be a climbing rose, think it was missed labeled!

Oh yes, Clematis are blooming also!

I best stop posting pictures and get to packing.  It's my first camping trip of the year, YIPPEE!!  I might post a picture or two but you know, "what happens at camp, stays at camp"!!!

Enjoy June

Spring Is HERE!!

It happened, Spring has arrived! Flowers are starting to bloom, but boy, oh boy, are we having Spring Showers!  The yard is so wet I feel really lucky to get the lawn mowed. We are getting some sun breaks between the gray clouds.  I decided to take a walk and see the color I have in my yard. But first a basket of ruffled pansies I received as a gift. I just love their little faces.

A new addition to the yard is this pink Camellia.

Oh yes, color is popping!
Love, love daffodils!  Look what is starting to bloom, can't wait for the fragrance of lilacs!

With taking these picture I really tried to avoid showing you all the weeds I need to pull.  But the next picture shows the work I have ahead of me.  But I wanted to show you my ladies that followed me all around the yard.

I sure hope Spring has sprung in your next of the woods and you are being flooded with color!  If I'm not back before the weekend, Happy Easter!!

Enjoy June

NOPE, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

Did you hear me say that?  I'm not going to get Spring Fever!!! A BIG statement for me. This time of year can always be trying for me.  I want to be out in my yard working, but it truly is a mud bath right now. So I am going to stay in winter mode, yes, you heard me.  Even though::::::

Our weather is gorgeous sunny day, total down pours, little hail and wind.  Oh, did I mention that is all in one day!! That is how winter ends around here.  We've even been known to have a snow flake or two in March.  I have crocus, daffodils, pansies and primroses all blooming.  Winter mode, winter mode, oh gosh I may be failing!!!

I had a couple of granddaughter stay over the weekend and the crazy weather didn't brother them at all.  Oh yes, they would dash for the house when a down pour hit but otherwise were outside playing.  It was so nice to see this and not in the house on electronics.  But I had to chuckle on there playing.  They found a couple of squash on the compote pile and decided to wash them in my little fountain.

I guess this was their kitchen.  Really the pump doesn't work but you can still move the handle and pretend.  I have a little water pump in the wine barrel that circulates the water up through the spout.  They must have been playing some sort of house for they found their bed!

Thank goodness my bath tub is empty for the winter! Or they may have taken a bath, burrrr! Come this summer it will be my own personnel hot tub!  Just room for one! Sure great to see and hear laughter.

I am so shocked that I can upload pictures today.  I have struggled for months and all of a sudden it started working again.  It had continued to ask for a password to upload and my sign in password didn't work for picture upload.  Oh well, I'm just happy I can add a picture or two again.

I'm leaving with one more statement, I'm not getting Spring Fever!  Except look what I pick in my yard yesterday.

I think I better go take my temperature I might have a fever, Oh My!!!!

Enjoy June

WRESTLERS

Are you a mother, father ,grandmother, grandfather, brother, sister, cousin or friend of a wrestler?  Well then, you know you spend many, many hours sitting in the bleachers!!  Yes, that saying - hurry up and wait.  Until I had a son 40+ years ago I didn't know much about wrestling. You ask why did I send my son to wrestling at a young age.  You see at 3 years old he was a little bit of a bully on the block.  Not what we define bulling as today.  He simply thought he could tackle anyone and tumble, I guess a typical little boy.  So there was a great little wrestling program in our town, so I joined him up.  My thinking was, teach him the sport and he would learn rules and discipline when to wrestle.  Well, that part work!  But boy I didn't know I was domed for a lifetime of bleachers.  Here's the deal! I'm on round two with wrestlers.  Yes, grandson!!

My oldest grandson is a freshman in high school, Wait, how did I get this old?? Anyway their high school team competed in a two day regional wrestling tournament.  Did you catch the two days!  That means two days sitting on wooden bleachers.  Oh no, not even the more modern softer plastic ones.  You learn to bring cushion or what ever padding you can muster up! And here I thought I had enough of my own padding that I've acquired over the years.

Needless to say it was all worth the sitting.  Freshman grandson got second in Regionals and now onto State next weekend.  Yes, more sitting!! Our team also took second and qualified 13 boy to wrestle at State.  The most our little high school has ever sent to State.  Plus our coach got Coach of the Year and one of our great wrestlers got Wrestler of the year.  Way to to North Marion High School!!

So proud of all you boys!!  The stud freshman grandson is front row third from left or on my header, the stud on the top left, ha - ha!!

CHANGES

I'm back but sure didn't expect this turn in my life. We go along in our day to day activities and don't expect changes.  I've  always had this life is so short, get out see more, do more, travel more, visit more, simply enjoy! I really didn't know how short it can get. Life comes along and make it's own changes! Oh yes, changes you don't expect or even think  about.

Family has always been very important to me. If you have followed me you realize grand kids are at the top!! They are the best!!  To get these wonderful grand kids I have three grown adult children that are right up there.  But before all this came along I had one brother growing up.  I always said his mission in life was to harass me, tease me, get my goat and then just laugh! Oh, I can I tell you stories.  Well I lost my brother last month.  You just don't realize one day they are here and then in 10 short days they have left this earth.

He is survived by his wife of almost 48 years, two daughters & son in laws and four grand kids.  Oh have I laughed in the past few weeks about all his craziness with his grand kids.  Boy did he leave them with some wonderful memories.  They will sure miss him.

So give your love ones a extra little hug! And above all create some memories, they never leave!!

NEW YEAR

The New Year snuck up on me and here it is the middle of January.  There will be no New Years resolution or word for the year. I decided I am going to enjoy this journey of life.  Oh yes, I do have a few things I want to accomplish this year but if I get them done or not, it's not going to be an issue.

It seem the only pictures I can post are in my header so you may get sick of it changing. LOL!!  We had a family photo shoot in the snow in central Oregon. Some of the photos turned out great, a lot not so much.  The problem being is a snow storm decided to help us out, NOT!! But of course one of my favorite is with grand kids.

I had hoped to post a pic of all the big girls and little girls with there matching apron I made for Xmas but that's not happening.  I'm been looking online for a blog workshop that may help with all my blogging problems.  So far the ones I've found are miles away.  Of course a road trip would be fun, but I will pass this time of the year.  So I've stop worrying about not posting and have decided I will just be the biggest stock er!  Unless your blog is linked to Facebook I can not comment either.  Oh well, life goes on!

I hope you are on the road to accomplishing you resolution or at least enjoy life.

Until next time,
June
